This conference is designed to reflect rising race and religious intolartity not just in Czech republic but all over the world. We can see more and more news about new conflicts and crimes motivated by race and religious disagreement everyday.

ELSA vision what to achieve with this conference is to widen students’ knowledge considering holocaust, genocide, war crimes, race crimes, religious envy, etc. We believe these subjects are still very important and up-to-date. Modern war should be fought with education, understanding and respect to other cultures and habits, not weapons and destruction.

These days, the question of tolerance is very often discussed and penetrates everyday political and social life. Considering Czech Republic, we can demonstrate this on a government try to abolish a political party, known for having connections to right wing extremists via the Supreme Administrative Court.

Ideas which seventy years ago brought us the most bloody war conflict of all times are still lateral in today´s world and lately, regretfully, they are on a rise. We recognize this fact and we hope that through our conference, we can help to eliminate them.

The main project objective is to widen students’ knowledge of holocaust and war crimes prosecution.

Even though holocaust on a first glance can seem to be not very up-to-date subject, our opinion could not be more different, today we see huge rise of dangerous nationalism in Czech Republic, Germany and all across the Europe which renders this conference very up-to-date. Conference does not just want to remember holocaust but it will also give students the basic understanding of law itself under the “Third Reich”.

In the second part of conference, which concentrates on international war crime tribunals, is led by our vision to explain to students how institutions which try to prosecute crimes such as genocide, torture, etc. and therefore alert students about the risk of xenophobia, religious intolerance and racism.

The whole conference should be attended by 70 foreign, at least 30 Czech students and 7-10 lecturers.

In case of sufficient funds, the output of this conference should be represented in printed brochures, multimedia CD containing PowerPoint presentations and lectures of the conference with added photos, commentaries and interviews with them.

This CD will be distributed in bilingual Czech - English version for free. Expected impression is 50 printed brochures and 200 multimedia CDs.
